Tourism Malaysia launch heavy bus branding campaign in London

The colourful partnership between Tourism Malaysia and Transport Media is as bright as ever.

The current campaign is mid way through, and still attracting attention of British and International tourists when in London.

Scenes of Malaysian jungles and marine parks have wrapped five iconic double-decker buses travelling through popular tourist sites including Piccadilly Circus, Marble Arch and Trafalgar Square.

The eye catching buses promote the relaxed and spiritual culture of Malaysia displaying messages “When in Malaysia, love happens” and “Go on a spiritual Journey. Go to Sipadan, Malaysia”.

The buses were launched during special reception at the Malaysian High Commission in Belgrave Square, London. The launch was in collaboration with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show where The Tourism Malaysia Garden successfully bagged the Show Garden Gold Award. Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen was very optimistic of the campaign, “We hope the buses bring more sunshine and help put a smile on the faces of London’s commuters”.

“We are excited about the working partnership, to promote our fantastic destination on the most recognised public transport system and the world’s most iconic city that presents a great opportunity for Tourism Malaysia.” She added.

Official figures from Tourism Malaysia show the 3.9% increase in the arrival of tourists from the UK in January 2011, in comparison to the previous year.

The Promotion Board have received great recognition thanks to their recent win at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and intensive advertising campaign; Malaysia is certain to see a further rise in tourist visits in the future. “We are confident at Transport Media that Tourism Malaysia will carry on successfully raising awareness of Malaysia as a holiday destination“ John Kehoe, Managing Director of Transport Media.
